Uniforms
All incoming soldiers, from the Union side as well as the Confederate side, had to adapt to the uniforms that they were required to use.
Union Uniform:
The typical Union uniform consisted of a blue forage cap with a black leather visor. Along with a dark blue sack coat, blue trousers made out of wood, and leather "brogans."

Confederate Uniform:
On the other hand, the Confederate side wore what was known as slouch hats, gray wool shell jacket, and with either gray, butternut or blue trousers. Along with a haversack.

How does this relate to our Universal Theme Adaptation?
This relates to our universal theme, adaptation because now the U.S. uniform is more efficient for war and battles. This is how today's U.S. army's uniform looks like:
Adaptation can be either positive or negative and in this case the new U.S. uniform is positive because it is more productive.
